VOLUNTEER LEADERS

When it comes to ministry here at SSM Rancho, we have a simple formula that we have seen work over and over and over again. Here it is:

A CARING ADULT + A STUDENT = GOOD STUFF

That’s it. It’s not magic, and it’s certainly not algebraic. We know that when a caring adult is involved in the life of a student(s), good stuff happens. Will you consider being one of those caring adults? Our team would love to have you join us! We have three primary roles that allow for various levels of involvement: (1) Life Group Leaders, (2) Weekend Leaders, and (3) Tech Leaders. For more information about each of these roles, continue reading below.

If you already know that you are interested in being a leader, or if you have any questions or need help, please contact me using the contact form here. If you still aren’t sure about where you would like to serve, please continue reading.

LIFE GROUP LEADERS

A Life Group leader is a small group leader for SSM. Life Groups meet once a week throughout the school year, usually on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights for about an hour and a half, and are comprised of Bible study, relational connection, games, prayer time, etc. A typical group is made up of 8-12 students (grade and gender specific) and 1-2 leaders . Leaders will receive: (1) Small group leader training before they begin (2) curriculum for the weekly Bible studies, and (3) on-going small group leader training and support from the SSM team.

WEEKEND LEADERS

Weekend leaders serve at either the 9:45am or 11:30am weekend service. Responsibilities include sitting with students, participating in events, showing enthusiasm for the weekend program, and leading a table in some discussion time. Our weekend leaders are essential in helping students connect with a caring adult and their peers.

TECH LEADERS

Are you talented at video editing, Photoshop, audio engineering, ProPresenter, or Illustrator? We are always looking for people to help us use media and technology to better reach students. Roles and commitments vary depending on the medium and project. Examples of a few roles are: designing graphics slides for weekend/website, running the sound board at weekend services, t-shirt and calendar designs, shooting and editing a promo video for a student event, etc.
